I have a Golden Ticket

Posted on October 2, 2005.

Lots of things happening this weekend, and it's only Sunday morning.

I got a Golden Ticket. This was the message:

Dear C Montoya,

Tramontana says: "Ya me contarás cuál es la URL para echarle un vistazo a tu blog en WP"

You've been invited to try out WordPress.com!

JOY! I've launched already: montoya.wordpress.com. It might be a nice random blog. I don't have anything specific to yap about, but I do have lots of yapping to do.

I've also been working on Liquid Designs. The success has been great, and I'm just kicking myself for not applying for Google adwords earlier. Hopefully I'll have ads set up by monday.

One cool thing was this: I'm in the Web Standards Group. Every now and then a one way digest of links is sent out to the group… it has new and interesting stuff for list members to read. This time, Liquid Designs was in the list! Very cool! I wanted to somehow e-mail everyone, and tell them, hey, that's my site, I made it, I'm just a college student and I made that site and someone give me a job, seriously!

I can't do that, though. The links digest doesn't allow replies. No matter, it's possible that some people might connect the C Montoya with the C Montoya and realize it's been me all along.

Otherwise, it's been progress as usual. There's a couple cool new articles in the weblog and I'm working on a project for my web design class that's very cool. No details yet but when it's done, I'll showcase it here.
