Did you know I have music on this site? You can find the link in the footer, next to the quarter note, or just use this link to my radio.blog. I’ve set it up so you can load the link in a new tab or window and listen to the songs while browsing.
Radio.blog is a free package you can get at the official radio.blog.club website. The website claims that radio.blog is “the first stand-alone player that lets you stream sound on your website.” Sounds about right to me. The player combines PHP and Flash to support streaming audio that caches the files to the user by session, so that the user can listen to your songs all day with just one stream for each song. The package comes with conversion scripts that turn your mp3’s into rbs files at 32 or 64 kbps. This means the files are small and (possibly) safe from copyrights. At least I haven’t heard of any problems. They also invite less stealing or direct downloading.
The only thing you have to remember when installing Radio.blog is to exclude your installation from the global Radio.blog search. Otherwise people can access your files without even visiting your website just by searching from the Radio.blog website, and that’s not very cool. Once you have that taken care of you have a complete streaming package to share your a capella works and guitar riffs with the whole world. Also, the project is close to launching version 3.0, which will support skinning and playlists… what more could you ask for?
Radio.blog is probably the coolest feature on this website. Even if no one else uses it, it provides me with a portable radio that I can listen to when I’m in computer labs or on a friend’s computer. I’ll keep it up as long as my bandwidth allows it, which should be for a long time considering how light the streaming is. I’ve even added more music to the playlist, which brings me to 24 songs in all. The songs are all classic videogame tracks, because that’s what I love. Besides, it’s safe from copyrights and it’s what makes up 75% of my music collection.
Here’s the complete playlist as of now:
- Megaman X - Sigma Stage 1
- Megaman X - Sigma Stage 2

To answer your comment:
keeping people interested - not happening if no one is visiting.
posting on your website - please don’t wait for me, because I would really like you to start using your website, so when it’s finally designed it will actually have some content. This website had content before the design too. I won’t be able to customize your site until winter break at the earliest, okay?
