Guestbook Deleted

Why do I get all the dumb commenters? Why don’t they comment on someone else’s blog?

This was the final straw on the Guestbook page for me:

dean: You still have a ways to go with that home page listed for your business. It is not visual yet. I wouldn’t advertise yet, my 16 year old honestly is better at web design. But at least you are trying and not meaning to crush you it will get there. Not to fear. You have some time till you graduate to hone the skills before you try to be professional.

Dean, you are an idiot. Your 16 year old is unfortunate for having such a dumb father. Hasn’t anyone ever told you not to flame? And what is wrong with trying to make a dollar? I have bills to pay. If web design and development gets those bills paid, then who are you to say whether I should have a business or not? I’m an expert in CSS design, and very capable in XHTML and PHP. My graphic skills are fine for someone who was never artistic, and people around the world like my work. So you can take your mistaken assumptions and blow them out your ear.

To anyone and everyone who ever has an inkling to be as moronic as dean, take my advice to heart: when someone wants criticism, they will ask for it. Insulting someone out of the blue is never going to be taken lightly. If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

    Ditto Phil - your sites are great. It’s sad that a troll was the impetus to delete your guestbook. If it’s a bit of consolation, guestbooks are sooo 1995.. ;) :) (they were/are cool though)

    Yeah, it was a combination of things… unfortunately Guestbooks scream “spam me,” and most of my spam was going there. I have a guestblock instead so I don’t need the guestbook anymore :)

    Great response - for a minute I thought i was reading Maddox :) I guess that ‘tone’ is just a side effect of dealing with idiots in the general public.
