I recently came across guimp.com for the second time and winced (for the second time) at the tiny size of this site. It’s definitely the smallest site in the world, and gets a lot of attention for having the smallest games too. You can play Pong, Pac-Man, Asteroids, Breakout, and more… if you can bear to squint long enough. This is the site at actual size:

I checked out a couple of the newer games and then had an idea… why not open my Opera browser and zoom this site? Suddenly I realized that page zoom is one of the coolest browser tools out there, right up with tabs and toolbar searches. It’s as simple as selecting zoom: 1000%.

And the end result is a site that I can actually enjoy:

Cool right? I think this is a great example of why page zoom is so important, and why any browser that does not offer this feature, really should. Internet Explorer 7 will have this feature too, though the quality is not the same. This is the site at 1000% in IE 7 beta:

This blur doesn’t happen in Opera, and I’m thinking that this will be fixed for the final version.
But enough about IE. Props to Opera for this great feature, and I hope you enjoy using it too.
