Just a little GIMPing

I know I'm not supposed to be touching design because I'm not an artist, but I just can't help myself. In my spare time this summer I'm teaching myself a few little tricks, and I've decided that even if I can't make anything attractive, I can at least learn to make things that aren't ugly. It's "now with less ugly" for life.

Here's just a sample of where my mind is going:

I think it's a good start. I've looked at a couple tutorials and gathered some various fonts, dingbats and brushes. What do you think?
