I sold out

Posted on July 9, 2006.

I might have said I wouldn't do it, but money does not grow on trees and I am kinda broke. Would you like your ad here? (Outdated link removed.) Oh, and if anyone is interested in finding out exactly how I managed to make completely CSS driven popups, let me know and I'll put together a tutorial.

well, you'll soon find out what your readers have to say about it.

one more thing, I think the ads could be smaller. Right now they detract from the header too much.

Well yes, they could be smaller, and I could make less money. Feh.

Heh, I don't blame you. I understand completely and don't think that they distract from the design too much. Maybe you could add a PayPal donate button, too?

Good luck and I hope that you get some cash in your pocket before long.

Gotta pay the bills right? More power to you inserting a few small ads. I'm quilty. I think mine are so unobtrusive that people rarely see them :(

Pure CSS Popups, by Eric Meyer.

Aw Noah, you spoiled it. That is where I started. Getting around a certain IE bug was tough though.

It's nothing major, but if you right click one of the ads in firefox and open it in a new tab, its popup stays put and sometimes obscures the popups of the other ads.

Yeah, I think it's because I don't have a:active or a:focus in the CSS, so the blocks don't get removed. Oh well, those things might go down soon so it's no big deal :)

Um, don't make it sound so appealing :P

Well if anyone had actually rented some ads, that would have been nice… but it never actually worked out.
