Senioritis is an imaginary syndrome attributed to students nearing the end of high school and college. Its symptoms include laziness, procrastination, and apathy toward schoolwork.
While senioritis is most certainly not a real disease, its effects are well known to most experienced educators. This imagined affliction is a symptom of students’ complacency once they have all but guaranteed their place at commencement. After college admission letters arrive in early April, high school seniors feel even less pressure to push themselves academically.
New site: I Have Senioritis.
There are different ways to deal with senioritis; I’m going to blog about it. I’m not actually feeling lazy or apathetic about my senior year, but I might be a few months from now. What I do feel is that you might like to know about life at Cornell; and if you don’t, I won’t bother talking about it here. I think it’s a good move; I plan to blog a lot about web design and technology here at christianmontoya.com over the next few months, and now I have a separate place to talk about my life. Considering that many of my friends who have visited my site have complained that my content is too technical for them to understand, they’ll probably enjoy ihavesenioritis.com much more.
This new site is running on Wordpress at my new hosting space with Zanzaban. The design is a stock theme which will do very well until I get the time to make a nice custom design. The feed and e-mail subscriptions are powered by Feedburner, which I do love so.
So what do I plan to do with this new site? I’m hoping to blog often and cover a wide range of content. I plan to talk about classes, campus events, food, news, and general craziness. I hope to share lots of pictures and maybe some videos too. I figure anything that’s interesting goes, and I’m open to suggestions too. Stay tuned!
