I'm saw these in the signature of a sports racer on the zefrank forums.
Why doesn't anyone ever tell me when I make stupid grammatical errors like these? It seems like every post I've published in the past month has had some sort of obvious error (usually the result of blogging at 3 am). Are you all just really forgiving?
I'm saw… I'm saw… I'm sawwy my gwammaw is so bad.
Back to studying…
I am also confronted with exactly the same problem and I often wondered, but never wrote about it like you did. I think, there are two reasons why people (visitors) just do not say anything:
First, they get used to typos and to bad grammar. Like I do, a lot of non-english natives flood the web with bad english and telling everyone how to phrase that, how to spell that and so on would be the first step to madness.
Second, and this is the by far most likely explanation although it is sad: People are not confident enough in their own language's rules, so they do not say anything. You can find thousands of sites dealing with the apostrophe-problem (which, by the way, we also have in german speaking countries) and still you can find this '-madness on big and popular websites.
So: Check yourself and be happy, because in the end you're on your own!
Thanks, that's very enlightening… I'll have to remember to check harder (or be more awake when I write)!
Perhaps the writing skills expand with the acquisition of an espresso-machine?
LOL, I'm not allowed to have one in my dorm.
The funny thing is, I'm usually so tired at the end of the day (when I get to play online) that I'm just now noticing the error.
I guess we're all just sleepy geeks huh?
