I’ve been in a generous mood lately. Last Sunday I released a feature-packed comment.php template for Wordpress, and now I have a new treat for everyone:
Download ugly-icons.zip (do-whatever-you-want license)
I made these quite a while back, and I was originally going to hold onto them for a while and sell them for buckets of cash to some high-profile icon studio, but I changed my mind and decided the world could benefit greatly from having me as a benefactor. Try saying that ten times fast.
The set includes 11 hideous 20×20 icons you can use on blogs, social websites, CMS backends, or anywhere else you want to ugly things up a little. They are guaranteed to give your website that unique, “I don’t care about my appearance,” “less design, more garbage,” web 2.0 kind of look. Plus, if they don’t suit your fancy, just add wet-floor reflections and bright stickers to them… everyone will be impressed!
If you decide to use them (ha!), a simple link of atttribution would be appreciated. Then again, I might not want to be associated with these…
Ugly is the new icon! Enjoy!

Responses to my articleI was so looking forward to seeing what you call ugly (I’m sure they’re not as bad as you say!), but I’m getting a 404…
Well, it looks like I don’t know how to make links. Sorry about that one, it’s fixed now. Enjoy.
Aww… they make me nostalgic for Super Mario 3 (Nintendo). ^_^
LOL, you know my style
LOL. Those are pretty ugly.
