I guess I'm not the only one getting criticized unduly for sarcasm

Posted on December 8.

Dooce received a pretty bad bucket of hate-mail for a couple of sarcastic comments she made about organic free range chicken broth, of all things. You can read her original post: "On being a better Democrat" and her response to all the hate-mail: "Special Organic Free Range Chicken Broth Edition". It's really sad when you think about it, that some people take things so seriously that they can't tell the difference between honesty and humor. I mean, sarcasm used to be a literary art, but nowadays ever blogger has to cover their rear ends for fear of readers taking a joke the wrong way. I'm about to start some sort of "isupportsarcasm.org" just to provide a resource for all the sarcastic bloggers out there, with buttons and banners and $16.95 shirts. I'm this close.

About 85% of what I say is sarcastic, and 1/2 the time no one gets it. I've taught myself not to care.
