Finally, a design without my hands in the graphic work: if you’ll take a moment to stop on over at foxy m cloud, you’ll see a fresh new design that went live today.
The graphics (the cloud in the header and the foxes in the footer) were obviously not drawn by me. Foxy’s highly talented younger sister provided those, and it was up to Foxy & me to design a complete site around them. I went with a liquid design because I love them so, and you might be able to imagine the distraught look on my face when Foxy said, “I want rounded corners. You have to make rounded corners. You better not leave any sharp corners.” The markup is a bit… well… heavy, but that’s what you have to do if you want a liquid design with rounded corners.
So the design, as a whole, is finally something that my fiancée is really happy with and if you don’t like it, you’ll have to talk to her since it was all her idea. If you ask me, it’s clean and nice and “minimal” without being too plain. It’s time for me to put it down in my portfolio and move on. Item 1 on the long list of things to do this Winter break is complete, here’s hoping the rest of them will be completed too.

Responses to my articleMaybe you could use Nifty Corners Cube javascript for all that rounded elements. I don’t know if that script have problems with a background image, but it’s better than some extra divs
p.s.:can’t see the preview while I’m writing this comment
Not bad! Although perhaps a couple of min-widths scattered about the place would tighten it up a bit
Tom: That’s OK, the markup is already in there and it works fine. And yes, the Live Preview is dead around here and I need to fix it…
Mike: OK, I’ll have to play around with that and see what works.
Mmm, very foxy indeed.
All the rounded corners look properly…round.
And I’m with Mr. Thompson. You’ve done a great design job, but it disappears without the minimum widths in there.
Other than that, dig it! Nice and soothing.
