PayPerPost now requires disclosure

Posted on December 18.

It looks like the team over at PayPerPost finally caught up with all the negative publicity they were getting: PayPerPost Requires Disclosure by Marketplace Participants. Up until now bloggers everywhere were very critical of PPP for allowing "undisclosed advertisements" in blog postings, and ReviewMe, which required disclosure from day 1, received a lot more support from bloggers.

PPP also raised their minimum payment from $1 to $5, which still is not much but is at least closer to what the average blog advertisement is worth. Even though I am still not interested in participating in a program like PayPerPost or ReviewMe, I think PPP made the right move and this step is a win for more honesty and transparency in blogging.
