(re)branding

Posted on April 26.

I'm writing this post because it has been 10 days since my last serious article and I don't want anyone to think I've disappeared. I haven't posted lately because I've been distracted. I am less than a month away from graduation so I'm focusing on job hunting and graduation right now. All of that stuff is very important so that I can make a living for myself and continue to blog. Obviously a break like this doesn't help my traffic, but I'll worry about that later.

I will let you all know that I have been brainstorming about a new design lately as well as some actual branding for myself. I know that branding is very important and I am certain that this website has been lacking personal branding for a long time now. Sure, I have the Domo-kun theme going which has been there since day 1 and I have my own "style" that always goes into my ugly designs, but I can do better than that.

So while I'm working on job hunting and graduation and all the cool things that I will want to tell you all about down the road, I will also be working, slowly, on a new look for this site. I can't promise that it will be better than anything I have produced in the past but I think it will be a healthy change. More importantly, I will still be blogging and months from now when I am settled into a new routine with my professional life, I will be blogging a lot more.

So get your graduation festivities, your job and then come back here! But don't forget that there is something like holiday or so, too!

Same here, 3 weeks to go, then one final month from home.

The wife called and said something about Paradise Island - yeah, that'll work for a release before… G/L.

Good luck, I have myself been in the 'real world' of working 9-5 for six months now and have won myself an extension on my contract and got my first phone call today by someone who wants to pinch me from my current job.

It can be a pleasure coming home and blogging and that which I am sure you will find out if not already :)

Good luck with graduation and the job search. Remember, the first job is the one you learn the most, so therefore an important decision.

Thanks prof, you aren't the first person to tell me that and that's exactly why I'm putting a lot of thought into the start of my career.
