The artistic part

Posted June 15 in Design.

I discussed the topic of Facebook applications recently in my interview with the creator of Locations, who I have been talking with every day for the past 2 weeks. Facebook applications are a hot area for development right now, since they provide a great audience and a great interface to integrate with… all you have to do is think of an interesting idea that takes advantage of this network and make it work.

Yao and I have thought of some great ideas for Facebook applications… applications that would be viral and fun and interesting to build. Applications that would encourage people to interact with their friends and spend a little more time on Facebook. Good applications. The only problem is… they all require some artistic effort. The ability to draw characters, clothing, castles… the 3 C’s, actually. None of us possess that skill. Just look at my portfolio. I’m not an artist. Forget it.

So this is a shot in the dark, but blogging is all about leveraging your audience (and using buzzwords like leveraging). Is there anyone out there with the artistic prowess to draw some stuff for potential Facebook application(s) who would like to work with Yao and I? Obviously fame is a reward to anyone who can contribute. The programming and other plumbing details, we’ll take care of. Any takers? I’m hoping someone will say yes!
