78:16 (10 minutes of fame with Facebook)

Posted on October 11.

I went to the D.C. Facebook Developer Garage today and it was a lot of fun and very useful to anyone interested in Facebook app development. There is a video of the entire event over here: AllFacebook.com. If you aren't interested in all the tech talk but you like me, you can just skip ahead to 78:16 (yeah, that's 78 minutes) and watch me talk for about 7.5 minutes. Otherwise I recommend watching the entire thing, including the segment on Warbook which came right before mine. This was entirely spur-of-the-moment and improvised so you will have to forgive me for all the ums. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed meeting other Facebook geeks, etc.

If this sparks anyone interest, the app I was talking about can be reached here: Social Tags. I also plugged App Reviews which is a project that I haven't had enough time to focus on so if anyone would like to contribute (or just outright buy the whole thing from me and run with it), let me know. It's a potentially useful app that I want to build up and make it relevant to users but it's all about time… as in, I just don't have enough. Sleep and eating and my day-job come first, in that order. If I can combine those three with all the web development I do (by coding in my sleep, eating bugs, and well, making mega-money from useless little apps), that would be good. Real good.

More about Facebook apps and the new design for this blog tomorrow ;)
