New Facebook app: Business IQ

Posted on November 17.

I've developed a new Facebook game for Investorguide: Business IQ. Every day, the app pulls 5 terms from BusinessDictionary.com and displays the definitions plus the number of letters. It's up to you to guess the words, and the app ranks you against your friends. There's also an "IQ" score that lets you know if you are a Business Genius or a Business Dud, and a global ladder for the top geniuses.

This app took me a while to develop but I like the way it came out and I think it's a cool way to learn all that complicated terminology and expand your vocabulary while having fun. I usually can't get more than a couple right but maybe in a few weeks my average will start to go up. We'll see.

Here's a fancy screenshot for those who are interested:

Business IQ 1

The main quiz screen, where the challenge happens.

Business IQ 2

The global ladder, which will hopefully be much more exciting when more people start playing.

Please add this app now and get in on the action!

Love the app! My only suggestion (if it is feasible) would be to add a timer to the quiz.

    You didn't use Flash? What?

Jarvis: It wouldn't be effective in Javascript because you could stop the timer. I could validate the start time and stop time at the server-side but I don't know if I have time to implement that.

CC: I don't know Flash. Maybe a future version will be in Flash, but it won't be developed by me.

Christian, I completely understand. It was just a thought. The app is fun as is. Kudos.
