Let’s say I were to write a book (this is completely hypothetical). What would you prefer?
A. A complete reference guide to CSS (2.1 & 3) with a section for each rule, the elements it can be applied to, visualizations of the results, and expert tips on usage.
B. A set of walkthroughs from scratch to completed design that explains, in detail, all the steps & reasoning in the CSS process.
C. Both A & B, but A first
D. Both A & B, but B first
E. Neither. Nobody needs books like these.
This is an informal poll, so just post your response in the comments along with any furthers comments you would like to make. Also, if your response was A-D, would you actually pay for these books? Would you buy them for friends who don’t know CSS but want to learn?
Remember, this is completely hypothetical, as in I’m hypothetically thinking about writing a book (or two).

Responses to my articleI like option C, and would buy them both. I need some books on CSS and it would be great if I can buy one which covers both CSS3 and CSS2(.1).
I vote for the D option, maybe making the book in 2 books B first and A second, you will read the B to imrpove your skills in design and choosing the right path to a good design and a good CSS. And this could be read everywhere. The second book would be the one sitting near your computer as a reference for day to day work, for that hacks we never remeber etc. Maybe the second one with a CD with the reference in html format or something like this to have it with you everywhere inside your laptop
D, definitely. And yes, I would plunk down my hard-earned cash. I also like the idea of including option A on CD (or a code for a digital download with purchase) so I can have it with me when I’m at Tim Horton’s (for you non-Canucks, it’s a coffee shop
) working.

Option D! I’d buy both
I vote for D! I agree whole heartedly with the words of Stefano as well. B first would be great, I already have some decent CSS knowledge but most of what I’ve learned is by straight trial and error and web searches. It would be nice to have a reference that has valid examples step by step and also the logic behind the various CSS “operations” and “routes” that you’ve taken.
Good luck and I hope this hypotheticalness becomes reality! I would definitely buy a copy or 3!

I vote for F. A book about your life’s story, CSS material sandwiched between chapters
Oh, and with pictures, please.
Book B would be awesome.
Book A would be boring, and probably just site on the shelf.
I’d say A, but if you decide to write either, give me a call. I’ve got the get-published-again fever lately.
