The Montoya Herald — ChristianMontoya.com
The new Carsonified design is like trying to read paragraphs of text off bright t-shirts. What a horrible idea. And using an armed soldier as the icon for "mission," on a site that champions values like "love" and "integrity," is about as moronic as you can get.
Sorry, comments for this entry are closed at this time.
Well… Not that I am keen on their new design that much, but the whole idea was obviously a deliberate one, and it certainly has a personality impact that is not likely to be seen on most of other websites (even this one, no hard feelings). And the soldier isn't only just the association of war, but also of persistence.
It is true that the more you're famous as a designer the more crap you can claim as good stuff, but MORONIC is too hursh, I think.
So, 'not a fan' then Christian?!
Yeah, I'm not crazy about it either (the colours and fonts used mostly), on a positive: the cleaner layout seems less busy and easier to navigate than the previous version. The soldier, mmm, questionable, perhaps, moronic though? It's not quite that bad.
Maybe you'll be like me - subscribe to the RSS feed and then hardly ever go there in the end!!
Matt: I like the concept behind the design, it's really the colors that ruin it. A bit more work in the contrast & readability departments would have been a good idea.
And I think the soldier wouldn't be such a big deal if Carsonified was just a design firm, but as a group that does conferences all over the world, it's definitely moronic.
p.s. who uses RSS anymore? I never did…
